european vacation...dumfries, scotland

at the end of our ireland trip, we are spending one night in dublin, then patty's mom flies home to los angeles. we catch a flight to scotland and will be staying two nights in dumfries. i'm really excited to see this part of scotland...we're stopping in dumfries to stay with my friend lesley, who i stayed with for a while when i lived in seattle. she's from scotland and now is married with a child...she and her family live in an old school house. how charming. i haven't seen her since 1999! i'm so excited...

next stop: london...

european vacation...first destination: clifden, ireland

today is seven days and counting until we leave for our european vacation. our first stop will be clifden, ireland. why clifden? well, patty's grandma oona is from this town and patty's mom has always wanted to visit. so, we're taking patty's mom! we'll be in clifden for a week and we don't have anything planned. since we are with her mom, i figured we'd stay in one place and take little day trips if we want to. or, just walk around the cute town.

we're staying in a really sweet bed and breakfast...can't wait!

the only thing that would make them perfect is if the mobile trucks ran on biodiesel!!

now that i have a cute bike...

i've been riding it. i ride on sunset blvd, so busy and lots of traffic. and yes, i wear a helmet. i know i have to. but it's so. not. cute. i have a cute bike, but where's the cute helmet??

i'm thinking about one of these and then maybe crafting it with feathers, appliques, etc? maybe an awesome etsy vendor would make it cute?

loving the recycled dresses...

i'm loving all of the upcycled vintage dresses out there...seems like there are more and more out there everyday. check out this one from etsy seller lorimarsha. it's called "truly, madly, deeply"...can't go wrong with that name...

speaking of upcycling, we had another bitch & switch and i scored some great items (the shoes aren't from the switch, but esb scored them for me at wasteland!)...i'll post more of the scores later, but that reminds me... esb just posted about cutoffs, which is really funny since i've been thinking today of making some cutoffs. i just got that bike (hey, since i'm working with the company, they gave me an amazing deal...so i couldn't resist), so i've been riding to work everyday. but, can't really ride in short skirts in this weather. so, i'm gonna make some cutoffs too!
