thank you from the bottom of my heart

thank you for all your notes, wishes, support, love, posts, comments, etc.  although no on prop 8 has conceded we will not give up.  i attended the rally last night in west hollywood & i literally felt the support & love.  yes, this is a fight, but a fight for love & equality.

what more can you do?  well, keep reading the blogs & stay connected, as two chicks nest so eloquently suggested.

most of all, i just wanted to say thank you.  i have so much to be grateful for:  an amazing wife, fabulous friends, supportive family, my health, my dogs, a roof over my head, a supportive blogging and online community, i live in a beautiful country where homosexuality is legal & there is peace on our shores, obama was elected president...the list goes on & on.  with that in mind, i am truly happy, no matter what.  it's far from over, but i am fighting with love in my heart & from a place of gratitude.  thank you.

great post. i feels strangely okay, maybe even optimistic. i guess that i'm a glass half full optimist, despite my cynicism and bitterness. if i wasn't i would have disengaged from the fight a long time ago or at least when i moved to canada. i am buoyed by the fact that so many straight people have taken this up as their issue and seem to be taking the news of prop 8 almost as hard as we are. it is so refreshing to not have to try to convince everyone that discriminating against gay people wrong. ahh, little victories. no one wins civil rights in the first or even second round. things will get better, it's just a matter of time. we have it in us to keep fighting.

I feel like we should break out into some sort of song. I was at the protest too and I feel so much better today. If I had not gone I probably would have moped and cried all day today too, I feel like I can carry on again. Check out the pix on my blog!

this is everyone's problem and we all need to fight for it. and something about obama's victory is making me feel more pro-active. maybe it's possible to change this world for the better. and i want to do my part.

Beautiful post. I used to live in West Hollywood and would love to have been at the rally/protest. It would have helped my anger and sadness. Living in NY is a blessing and a curse - I am at a distance from the mayhem but I couldn't vote no on 8 and I can't join with the awesome community in Los Angeles.

We will keep fighting! And yes, I too, have a lot to be thankful for.

The church got their way by using lies. It is as simple as that. I wrote a letter to my former pastor and told him to congratulate the church on turning away half of the population away from God. Obviously we are not backing down! It is disgusting. I am encouraging my friends to not just stop at signing petitions. A lot of people only voted yes because the church scarred them into it. I have hope that we can change the minds of a lot of them by explaining the facts and putting religion into perspective. You and your wife are so gorgeous by the way. :)
