happy home-maker {victory veggie garden}

i'm trying to get motivated to create a vegetable garden on the patio deck outside our kitchen.  i started the project at the height of our wedding planning last year and well, it sure fell by the wayside!  i've been really inspired by a new blog i discovered via my favorite magazine, sunset.  victory home & garden is all about urban gardening.  she blogs about her raised beds, her beautiful bounty and her dog.  i love her punk rock attitude and her diy bent.  plus i've also discovered many new vegan recipe blogs that i'm excited to delve into...

Go you! Gardening is one of the most satisfying and meditative hobbies I've ever had. I miss the bit of land I had back east and can't wait to get a new plot out here on the west coast!

imagine how fun it will be when you can use your own veggies in some of those yummy new recipes you've found!

Aw, thanks for the shout out! The advice I got when I started this garden was, “start small.” I’m going to tell you to start big! Or at least start however big or small you want to start but just start. It’s a lot of work, especially if you grow from seed like I do, but TOTALLY worth it.

Keep me posted!

I'm afraid to show this to H-town. He wants to garden so bad, but we have all these unfinished projects lying around the house...

Like wedding announcements. And taxes (shudder).

@adriana: thanks...you are so inspiring!

@ east side: what the heck are wedding announcements?

There's a lot of extended family we didn't invite, so we promised our moms we'd send out an "announcement." Here we are, 6 mos+ later.

I'm thinking about working on this over the weekend - but I've been saying I'll finally get a patio garden up and running for the last three years and it hasn't happened yet!
